Telangana: Tech student, pal held for vandalism
Hyderabad: Two days after nine parked cars were found damaged in Saidabad, police arrested a BTech student and his friend with the help of CCTV footage. Police said the drunk duo wanted to test out their strength and decided to see who could break more windows. They had got drunk at their friend’s house and were going back home when they saw the parked cars.
The engineering student, N. Venkata Santhosh Sai Saran Prasad, 23, and his friend B. Lakshman, a vendor, both used stones to break the glass windows of the parked cars. “Prasad studies at an engineering college in Machilipatnam. He had failed in three subjects and had come back home. He and his friend went to another friend's home and got drunk on November 17 night and came back on their bike. When they entered the colony they found cars parked outside. They decided to have fun by damaging them,” said Saidabad inspector K. Sattaiah.
“When one person broke a car's window, the other guy wanted to show his strength and broke more windows. They both were so drunk that they thought it was fun,” said the Inspector.
Police said that CCTV footage helped cops to track down the bike used by offenders, which proved to be the key lead in the case. Both the suspects were produced in court and were remanded to judicial custody. The duo was booked for mischief and damaging property.
