Hyderabad: Madhuranagar police on Tuesday arrested a person identified as A. Anjaneyulu, 30, on charges of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl by promising to marry her. The accused who had been luring the girl for a long time, trapped the girl, when she came to her uncle’s birthday at Yousufguda under Madhura Nagar PS.
Anjaneyulu was sent to judicial remand. Police said after the birthday celebration, when everybody at home was asleep, the girl went missing. It was later found that the girl also took away cash, gold jewellery with her, when she left home.
On a complaint from her mother, a kidnap case was registered. Based on the clues and technical evidence, police traced them and rescued the girl. The girl was also counselled and sent for medical examination. Further investigation is under process, said police.
