Bengaluru: Petrol bunk owner robbed of Rs 5 lakh

The incident took place at around 11.30 pm right in front of his house, while Satyanarayan was returning home in his car.

Bengaluru: Two bike-borne men threatened a 65-year-old businessman and escaped with Rs 5.71 lakh in cash in HSR Layout police station limits in South-east Bengaluru late Tuesday.

Police said the victim, identified as Satyanarayan, a resident of HSR Layout Sector I, owns a petrol bunk on Outer Ring Road.

The incident took place at around 11.30 pm right in front of his house, while Satyanarayan was returning home in his car.

Preliminary investigations reveal that when he stopped his car in front of his house and got out, the duo threatened him, pushed him and escaped with a bag containing cash.

“They didn’t attack him but pushed him and escaped. I visited the spot and the police have definite clues about the two men involved in the robbery. They will be apprehended, soon,” said Dr Boralingaiah, DCP (South-east).
