Youth arrested for smuggling cows in Uttar Pradesh

Muzaffarnagar: A youth was arrested for allegedly smuggling cows for slaughter in Budhana town, police said on Friday. SHO D.K. Tyagi said police seized three cows and arrested Rahul, the truck’s owner. Some knives and an axe were also seized from the accused, he said. Police said the truck was stopped by locals last night after they suspected cows were being smuggled.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against seven persons in connection with slitting of a man’s throat over cattle dispute in Jalalabad on Wednesday. The condition of the victim, Man Singh, is still serious, police said, adding they are yet to make any arrests.
