Hyderabad: The Special Investigation team has unearthed Rs 10 lakh worth jewellery and documents from a locker maintained by slain gangster Nayeem at the State Bank of Hyderabad at Miryalaguda on Friday. Cops seized 280 gram gold, 700 gram silver and more than 200 land documents from the locker, which was opened by Nayeem’s binami. Police has prepared a list of 20 of Nayeem’s suspected aides, who are at large.
Meanwhile, over 30 people approached local police at Bhongir alleging that their lands were grabbed by Nayeem’s associate named P. Srinivas in 2007. They said 16 acres of land was grabbed by Srinivas who allegedly threatened the land owners and compelled them to register it. The victims claimed that they suffered a loss of Rs 30 lakh.
More people claiming to be victims of Nayeem are coming out seeking justice and demanding their property back. Police is “baffled” at the large number of people and their unrealistic claims.Many have come out stating that Nayeem has extorted money from them for decades and has grabbed land without adequate proof.
