Bhubaneswar: A 35-year-old woman hailing from Kesharajpur under Boden police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Thursday killed her three children – all below five years of age, by throwing them into a deep well.
According to reports, the villagers in the morning spotted Lochani Majhi, wife of Kalyan Singh Majhi, crying near a well located in the middle of the village. When they approached her as to know what has happened, - she cried bitterly pointing to the well. When the villagers peeped into the well, they found the bodies of the Lochani’s children. The villagers immediately informed the police, who with the help of fire brigade personnel, fished out the bodies from the well. The deceased children, two males and one female, were indentified as Sashi Bhusan Majhi, 4, 18-month-old Laxman Majhi. The police detained Lochani and is interrogating her about the motive of killing her children. Lochani’s husband was present at home when the incident took place, report said.
