CCTV helps cops to nab robbers in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: CCTVs helped the police to solve the sensational robbery case of businessman Divyesh Hadhiya, who was attacked on Saturday night and robbed of Rs 12 lakh.
Divyesh, the owner of Rajdhani Tyres of Siddiamber Bazaar was robbed by a six-member gang, who intercepted his scooter and fled with his cash and bike. Police arrested Ashish Singh, Jagadish Singh, Moham-med Ameer, Mohammed Habeeb and a 17-year-old student and seized Rs 11.7 lakh.
Police said on Saturday night Divyesh Hadhiya, closed his shop and was going home on his scooter with the day's collection Rs 12 lakh. Midway, Mallikarjun, who was on his bike, overtook him and hit his bike and both fell down. Raj Misra and Ashish, who were on another bike hit Divyesh's vehicle from behind. Before he could recover Mallikarjun got up, snatched the cash bag and fled with Divyesh's scooter. Ashish, Rajmisra, Asif, Habeeb and Ameer also fled on their bikes.
Using CCTV footage and tracking mobile tower location police nabbed the gang. East zone DCP Dr A. Ravinder said the main accused Jagadish Singh was an employee of Jain Tyres located opposite Divyesh’s shop and used to often help him in the absence of workers and had observed the movements of Divyesh and found that he used to carry cash home after closing the shop.
“Jagadish was badly in need of money. He shared his robbery plan with his friend Ashish who also needed money. They planned the robbery and met several times last month to finalise the day,” the DCP said.
“As per their plan, they laid a trap on June 11, but as Divyesh left home early, they could not succeed. On Saturday they successfully executed their plan,” he added.
Jagadish, the main accused, did not participate in the robbery as Divyesh could identify him. They chose Saturday to execute their plan thinking that the collection would be more, the DCP said.
After the robbery the six went to Mallikarjun's house at Balapur. Jagadish went to Balapur on Sunday morning and distributed the money to all the gangsters. The arrested persons were produced in court and a hunt is on to nab Mallikarjun and Asif.
