Sudanese student held for carrying ganja at Kovai airport

During baggage check, the officials found 50 grams of ganja packet.

COIMBATORE: A 22-year-old Engineering student was held at Coimbatore airport on Saturday for allegedly peddling 50 grams of ganja. Airport sources said, Mohamed Tariq Salik Sadole, a youth from Sudan staying in the city and studying final year in a private Engineering college here, was allegedly in possession of the stuff.

Mohamed Tariq was about to fly to Sharjah by Air Arabia flight around 3 am in the wee hours today. During baggage check the officials found 50 grams of ganja packet inside his hand bag luggage.

The youth was denied permission to fly along with the narcotic packet and was handed over to Peelamedu police along with the seized ganja packet, sources said. Peelamedu police have lodged a complaint and started further investigations.
