Chennai: A 32-year-old man was booked under POCSO Act for allegedly abusing class-9 student on Friday.
The accused Ashok Kumar (32) of Jai Bheem Nagar in Urappakkam had allegedly entered a house of 13-year-old girl when she was alone. “The poor parents went to work leaving their daughter alone. She is a class-9 student in the Guduvanchery government school,” the police said.
Ashok Kumar allegedly entered the house on the pretext of asking for water. Later when he tried to molest her, hearing girl’s scream, neighbours broke the door. But he managed to escape.
