Bengaluru: Rs 5 lakh stolen from car

The bike-borne men had closely monitored the victim from the moment he entered the bank in Peenya police station limits to withdraw money.

Bengaluru: A man has been robbed of Rs 5 lakh by two unidentified bike-borne men on Thursday in Bagalagunte police station limits. The robbers decamped with the money kept in the dashboard of the victim's car.

According to police, V Ramakrishna, a resident of Vajarahalli near Nelamangala, had withdrawn the amount from a bank and was heading to another bank to pay property tax. When he parked his car and went to the bank on Ayyappa Swami Temple road in Bagalagunte, two unidentified bike-borne men broke open the window of the car and decamped with the money kept in the dashboard.

“The bike-borne men had closely monitored the victim from the moment he entered the bank in Peenya police station limits to withdraw money. They saw him keeping the money in the dashboard and followed the victim. As he parked the car near the bank and went inside, the robbers stole the cash,” the police said.

The police are gathering the CCTV footage to identify the robbers.
