TIRUPATI: Tirumala II Town police registered a cheating and forgery case against a person for allegedly trying to secure VIP darshan tickets for the Lord Venkateswara temple with a fake recommendation letter purportedly from Telangana MLC Kura Raghotham Reddy.

The person who submitted the fake letter at the office of TTD additional executive officer Tirumala was identified as Reddemoni Yadaiah of Ranga Reddy district in Telangana.

In his complaint, TTD's vigilance inspector B. Sankar Babu stated that the additional EO's office had received two letters in the name of MLC Raghotham Reddy on Monday. Since the signatures and the fonts in the two letters were different, the officials alerted the TTD vigilance and security wing.

When the vigilance staff called MLC Raghotham Reddy over phone, he stated that he had issued one letter and specified the name of the devotee.

After establishing that the second letter submitted by Yadaiah was fake, inspector Sankar Babu lodged a complaint at the II Town police station in Tirumala. Following this, II Town SI D. Ramesh Babu registered a case of cheating and forgery against Yadaiah, who is at large.
