Telangana: 2 cops booked for abusing colleague
Suryapet rural inspector B. Praveen Kumar Reddy and Penpahad sub-inspector K.T. Mallesh have been charged under SC/ST Atrocity Laws.
Hyderabad: A police inspector and an SI from Suryapet were booked for attacing a Vanasthalipuram cop, by allegedly referring to his caste name. Suryapet rural inspector B. Praveen Kumar Reddy and Penpahad sub-inspector K.T. Mallesh have been charged under SC/ST Atrocity Laws.
The duo had detained SI Daravath Vijay for allegedly creating nuisance in Suryapet in a drunken state when he went there for bandobast duty at Peddagattu Jatara. Vijay’s mother lodged a complaint with the police alleging Vijay was abused by the two by referring to his caste name.
Earlier, Rachakonda commissioner Mahesh Bagvath had suspended Vijay and another cop T. Mahesh for creating nuisance in Suryapet in an inebriated condition during Peddagattu Jatara.
