Hyderabad: A 15 year old girl was raped by two people at Meerpet. The victim, a Class IX student, was close to one of the suspects, Md. Usman, 20. The second suspect, Md. Jahangir, 34, allegedly took the victim to a lodge and raped her after blackmailing her saying that he has video clips of intimate moments of her and Usman that he would upload on social media. Police arrested both of the suspects on the charges of rape.
According to police the suspect, Jahangir, had hired Usman as his helper in his welding shop a year back. Usman met the girl while he was working in the shop and got close to her. “Usman lured her and took her to various places. He also recorded some of their intimate moments which was accessed by Jahangir,” said an official from Meerpet police station.
“On April 15, Jahangir called the girl and threatened her that he would release the videos on YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp. He then approached her house and picked the girl up. He took her to a lodge and raped her there,” said Ch Ranga Swami, Inspector of Meerpet police station.
Later, he dropped her home and went away. He also had threatened her and told her not reveal the incident to anybody. The girl’s parents, however, came to know about the incident, and approached police.
Meerpet police booked a case against both of them under IPC section 376 for rape. “We booked case against Usman also because he had sexually assaulted her,” he said.
