VIJAYAWADA: A 19-year-old pervert male Mallempudi Gopi, who worked with a tent house in Mallempudi, has been arrested on Friday for sodomising and murdering two boys.
Addressing media, Guntur Urban superintendent of police R. N. Ammi Reddy said six-year-old Kurra Bhargav Teja had gone missing from his home at Mellempudi village of Tadepalli mandal on March 14.
When he could trace his son, Teja’s father Kurra Bhagvania Naik lodged a complaint with police.
Following investigations, police found the boy dead with multiple injuries on his body. They registering a case of suspicious death and started investigating. When Gopi came to know about the investigations, he surrendered before the village revenue officer. On interrogation, he confessed to sodomy and murder of not just Teja but another boy Akhil.
The SP said on March 13 night, after consuming liquor, Gopi saw Bhargav Teja playing alone on the road near his house. He lured the boy, took him into nearby bushes and tried to have anal sex with him. When the boy resisted, Gopi beat him up severely and sodomised him.
Subsequently, he throttled the boy to death after which he had anal sex with the body before throwing it into bushes.
Ammi Reddy said on February 11 too, Gopi had similarly lured another boy Bandi Akhil playing at Hanuman Colony in Vaddeswaram village. He took Akhil to a secluded place and attempted to sodomise him. When the boy resisted, he bet him to unconsciousness and had anal sex with him. He later murdered the boy and threw the body into Buckingham canal.
The SP said a police team led by DSP D. Durga Prasad, Tadepalli CIs B. Ankamma Rao and M. Subramanyam, apart from other officers and constables worked on the case and cracked the twin murders.
