Gulf migrant from Kerala with fake passport held

The Emigration officials at RGIA found that his face was not matching with the picture in the passport and alerted the security officials.

Hyderabad: A 33-year-old Gulf migrant from Kerala, who landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport with a fake passport was caught by the security agencies on Monday.

The accused was identified as Syed Rafi and was arrested by the RGI Airport Police. According to the police, Rafi had travelled to Riyadh in 2007 and had been working in a hotel in the housekeeping department. But his employer seized his passport and kept it in his possession.

When he was being harassed at his workplace, Rafi approached local agents and managed to get a fake passport which was issued in the name of one Anil Kumar.

The Emigration officials at RGIA found that his face was not matching with the picture in the passport and alerted the security officials. He was arrested and sent to remand.
