4 repeat offenders nabbed by Rachakonda police
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police nabbed four people in different cases from Pahadishareef and Meerpet areas, including two brothers belonging to an interstate gang who were involved in a vehicle theft, and recovered huge quantity of gold from their possession.
The arrested were identified as B. Govind, 21, his younger brother B. Naidu, 20, and S. Srinivas Reddy, 33, all hailing from Visakhapatnam and Mahesh, 28, from Jeedimetla.
According to the police, the trio would travel to the city to watch movies and while returning back, they would halt at random locations and commit thefts. Govind and his brother are habitual offenders. Once in prison, they met Srinivas who was also arrested for thefts. After being released from prison in this January, Srinivas started staying with the brothers.
DCP LB Nagar M. Venkateswar Rao said that the gangsters would travel in trains at night, alight at random stations to target locked houses in towns and decamp with gold jewellery and other valuables.
Govind was earlier arrested from Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Begumpet and Medchal. After being released from prison, they were involved in 12 cases and committed offences in Rajamahendravaram, Meerpet, Gadwal, Kurnool and Pahadishareef.
During vehicle checking at Pahadishareef on Monday, the trio was found travelling in a car and on searching, gold jewellery and cash was found in their possession.
Gold jewellery, weighing 270 grams and silver articles worth Rs12.6 lakh was recovered from their possession. In the second incident, Mahesh who was working as a cook and has been committing offences since 2007 when he was a minor was arrested from Meerpet. All the arrested persons were produced before the court and remanded.
