Hyderabad: A 50-year-old man, who runs an NGO, allegedly molested his 15-year-old maid at his apartment in Masab Tank. He has been arrested and an investigation is on. Ikram Ali, secretary of the Citizen Grievance Redressal Bureau, sexually assaulted the girl when the rest of the family were away. Ikram also allegedly threatened her and did not allow her leave.
The girl has been working in the house for the past two months. Police arrested Ikram on Saturday after booking a case against him for molestation, threatening and wrongful confinement. “Ikram is living with his two children in the house. He has divorced his wife and when his children had stepped out, he made sexual advances towards the girl, who resisted. But he overpowered and molested her,” said S. Ravinder, Inspector, Humayunagar police station. The incident happened on March 16. The victim could not immediately lodge a police complaint. “We have booked the suspect, under IPC section 354 A (molestation), 342, (wrongful confinement), and 506 ( criminal intimidation).
