Hyderabad: 2 frauds held for promising jobs in MNCs

The arrest of Doddapaneni Shiva Krishna and Ravurapu Naveen followed.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad cyber crime police have busted a fake job racket by arresting two fraudsters on Wednesday. Doddap-aneni Shiva Krishna and Ravurapu Naveen Kumar were taken into custody for cheating their victims by promising jobs in multinational companies, such as Tech Mahindra and Infosys.

Disclosing the modus operandi of fraudsters, cyber crimes ACP K.V. M. Prasad said, “The duo would collect mobile numbers of job aspirants from consultancies and web portals. They would then contact aspirants over mobile phones and offer jobs impersonating officials of companies including Tech Mahindra and Infosys companies. After gaining their confidence, the accused would collect money from the aspirants towards so-called registration fee, security deposit, interview charges, processing fee and so on,” the ACP pointed out.

When the promised jobs were not forthcoming, three of those cheated — Ramanjaneyulu, Vinay Kumar and Harish, who paid Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively, complained to the police. Cyber crime police booked a cheating case and a team led by inspector Bhadramraju Ramesh, who heads the jobs and loan fraud units, took up investigations. The arrest of Doddapaneni Shiva Krishna and Ravurapu Naveen followed.
