Vijayawada: A police constable was arrested in Vijayawada for attacking a woman.
According to the police, D. Ravi Kumar, working as a constable in the Suryaraopeta police station in Vijayawada city, abused a woman and even attacked her.
Following a complaint from the woman, police arrested Kumar.
Recently, Kumar’s engagement was performed with a reserved head constable but he reportedly has an extramarital affair with a vegetable vendor.
Late on Monday night, Kumar went to the vegetable vendor’s house, in an inebriated condition and demanded money.
He even had a heated argument when she refused to give him money and in a fit of rage, beat her.
Alerted by the screams of the vegetable vendor, her neighbours rushed to help her and by this time, Kumar fled the spot.
The vegetable vendor lodged a complaint with Ajit Singh Nagar police who registered a case and arrested the constable.
