Hyderabad: Rs 2,50,000 cash stolen from scooter, suspect at large
Hyderabad: Unidentified suspects broke open the storage compartment of a scooter and stole Rs 2.50 lakh cash at KPHB on Monday afternoon. Police later released sketches of the suspects.
According to the police, Mohd Afzal Pasha, a retired employee of the electricity department from Sanathnagar had withdrawn Rs 2.50 lakh cash from a bank to money he had borrowed from his aunt.
After coming out of the bank, he kept the cash bag in the storage of the scooter and headed to a mechanic's shop near JK Point hotel at Sanathnagar crossroad. After getting some work done there, he went to another shop at Moosapet crossroad and parked the scooter on the roadside. On returning to his bike, he found that the storage lock was broken and the compartment open, and the cash bag kept in it was missing, said KPHB inspector Ch Kushalkar.
Police registered a theft case based on a complaint filed by the man and started investigation. Police is looking at CCTV footage from in the surroundings and started analysing them for clues on the suspect.
