Hyderabad couple flies in with 1 kg gold, held at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport
The couple pleaded ignorance at first, but on further inquiry they admitted to smuggling the gold in the form of 'kadas'.
Hyderabad: Two air passengers, including a woman, arriving from Kuwait were nabbed by Customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport when they were caught smuggling gold 'kadas' weighing 1.047 kg valued at Rs 28 lakh. The couple belongs to the city, sources said.
Customs officials at the Air Intelligence Unit of RGI Airport intercepted two passengers who landed at Hyderabad in a Jazeera airlines flight no J9 608. The couple pleaded ignorance at first, but on further inquiry they admitted to smuggling the gold in the form of 'kadas'. The male suspect had concealed four gold 'kadas' in his trousers, while the woman concealed six 'kadas' on her person.
