Bengaluru: Drunk ambulance driver booked

Bengaluru: An ambulance driver was booked for drunken driving in Ulsoor Gate traffic police station limits on Saturday night. This is the third such incident in the past two months in Ulsoor Gate traffic police station limits. The accused has been identified as Jagadish, 25, an ambulance driver at NIMHANS.

According to the police, around 10 pm, Jagadish was returning from Hebbal and was heading towards the hospital. He was driving recklessly and the police stopped him for using the ambulance siren when there were no patients in his vehicle. After he took the drunk driving test, it was revealed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. The Ulsoor gate traffic police have registered a case and seized the vehicle. The police have also asked him to surrender his driving licence which will be sent to the RTO for suspension.

In similar incidents in Ulsoor gate traffic police station limits, the police had booked two ambulance drivers,Yogesh on January 15 and Vishwas on January 20 for driving under the influence of alcohol and had suspended their licences.
