Hyderabad: Upset after her brother scolded her for not going to college, a degree student committed suicide in Bowenpally on Thursday. Police said T. Manasa hanged herself with a dupatta in the bathroom at her house. Manasa, 19, of Anand Colony in Bowenpally was doing her degree first year at Dewan Bah-adur College for Women at Secunderabad. Around 4 pm, her younger brother Mani-kanta returned from college and saw that she had not gone to college and scolded her.
“Depressed with this, she ran to the bathroom and hanged herself with a dupatta,” said Bowen-pally sub-inspector B. Srinivas. During investigation, police found that Ma-nasa had earlier attempted suicide a couple of times due to similar reasons. Based on a complaint from her father Mr T. Nagabhushanam, police booked a case of suspicious death and began investigations. In an unrelated incident, a 21-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train in Medchal. Police said M, Anjan Kumar Yadav, of Kurnool, was working for a private company Medchal. He allegedly committed suicide on Friday morning.
