Hyderabad: Couple arrested for carrying fake ballot papers
Hyderabad: A couple was arrested by the revenue inspector and the flying squad for keeping duplicate ballot papers and other banned materials in possession. They were handed over to Medchal Police on Friday night.
P.Naga Jyothi, the revenue inspector of Medchal, who was allotted to the flying squad for the panchayat elections, was on vehicle checking duty with other staff and Static Surveillance team-II in-charge VRO M. Venkat Reddy in Yellampet when they stopped one Swift Dezire bearing the number TS 07 FD 8957 on suspicion.
“The car belonged to Talari Narsimha, 42, and his wife. The team recovered objectionable materials like 100 door stickers with the symbol of jug, 150 duplicate ballot papers, 600 ballot papers with jug symbol, 100 ballot papers with frock symbol, 200 ballot papers stool symbol, 4 mini wooden bats and 20 jugs. On enquiry, he revealed that the said materials were printed at Rekha Printers in Secunderabad,” police said, adding that it was a violation of the model code of conduct.
