IIIT Basar student\'s parents demand police inquiry into his death

ADILABAD: Parents and relatives of the Basar IIIT student who allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room demanded that the state government should order an inquiry into the death. They also demanded stern action against the officials if they are found guilty. The student's parents said that their son was active participant in the students' agitation in the campus.

The family members staged protest at the hospital where his body was kept in Nirmal on Monday. The student died by suicide on Sunday night.

The family members said their son P. Bhanu Pradad was a PUC 2 student and he was a mentally strong person and would never commit suicide.

The family members disagreed with the matter written in the suicide note that he was mentally depressed and unable to cope with studies.

Meanwhile. Basar IIIT authorities refuted the reports that students were protesting over the death of Bhanu Prasad on the campus. The authorities said the campus is peaceful and the students are attending classes. The authorities appealed to the parents of the students not to be panic.
