Visakhapatnam: For the first time, the Vizianagaram police have invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against a rowdy-sheeter Vanjarapu Naresh (26) under Bobbili Police station limits. Superintendent of Police, Vizianagaram G. Pala Raju said that Naresh is a notorious person and he was involved in over 12 criminal cases in various police stations limits in the district.
The SP said that the police will invoke PD Act against the people who involve in crime against women to prevent the crime rate. Naresh had attempted to rape two girls a few weeks back and he had insulted few women in the district.
