Hyderabad: A painter, 40, from Shapurnagar hanged himself at a building in Jeedimetla on Sunday. The victim is survived by his wife and three-year-old daughter, said the police.
According to the Jeedimetla police, Baindla Swapna and Pavan got married seven years ago. Pavan got addicted to alcohol two years back and did not take care of his family.
“About a year ago, the couple had fights over financial matters. Pavan left the house and used to sleep in front of shops after getting drunk. Whenever he needed money, he either used to work or fight with his wife and snatch her money. Swapna works in a hospital canteen at Suraram,” said the police. Swapna lodged a complaint stating that her husband committed suicide by hanging under the influence of alcohol A case under Section 174 CrPC was booked.
