HYDERABAD: The firing by a realtor Zubairuddin on his partner Mustafa ten days ago at a guest house in Shastripuram took a new turn on Saturday with reports pointing out the accused’s closeness to police officials in the city. There are reports that a senior police official has close contacts with Zubairuddin’s family. Zubairuddin had helped him on many occasions. His father is also an established realtor apart from other family members.
In a media release, the city police denied any of its officials attending private parties hosted by Zubairuddin or his family. The release by the south zone police stated that some officials had attended an Iftaar party hosted by an education institution. “The reports are false and absolutely untrue. Atten-ding an Iftar party does not mean that the police is hand in glove with the accused persons,” said Mr V. Satyanarayana, DCP (south).
The police stated that Zubairuddin’s gun licence has been cancelled. “The licence was obtained in 2009 and Zubairuddin’s family members posses three licences,” he said. Meanwhile, Zubairuddin is still at large. The police team had searched for the accused in Bengaluru, Zaheerabad and two other places.
The police has formed special teams to nab the accused who is reportedly planning to surrender before the police. The teams are gathering details from close friends of the suspect.
