Bengaluru: Drunk man fatally run over by lorry
Bengaluru: A 31-year-old man was run over by a truck at Channasandra on Kadugodi main Road on Thursday night in Whitefield traffic police station limits. The deceased is Hussain Sab, resident of a labour shanties behind Srinivasa theatre and a native of Ballari, the police said.
He was allegedly heavily drunk and lying near a pile of garbage in a residential area on the Food Corporation of India (FCI) main road. Around 10 pm, a tipper lorry reversed over him as the driver failed to notice Sab’s presence.
The truck ran over one leg and hand causing him grievous injuries. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.
Passersby noticed the incident and rushed the victim to the hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. Cops seized the truck and shifted the body to Vydhehi Hospital for post-mortem.
Speeding vehicle kills unidentified man
In another incident, an unidentified man, around 35-years-old, died on the sport after he was run over by a heavy vehicle in Gandhinagar under Upparpet traffic police station limits. The deceased is yet to be identified as the police could not find any identification documents on him.
Police suspect it was a heavy vehicle, possibly a bus, as the skull was completely crushed. The police have sent the body’s fingerprints to the forensics, to ascertain if the victim had any criminal history. The police also said that as of Friday, nobody had come forward to identify the victim.
