New Delhi: A man has been held at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here today for allegedly sneaking in the terminal area on an invalid ticket to see off his girlfriend.
Officials said the incident was reported at about 4:00 am when on-duty CISF personnel apprehended a man, identified as A V Singh, while he was hurriedly exiting from the terminal.
On being probed, they said, Singh was detected to have entered the airport terminal using an invalid ticket which he had booked but cancelled later.
Singh informed, they said, that he did this act in order to see off his girlfriend who was travelling to Bangkok via Kolkata.
"Singh, a resident of Chanakyapuri area in central Delhi, was handed over to Delhi Police who booked him under sections 447 (criminal trespass) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document of the IPC," they said.
Under the law, only fliers with a valid travel ticket can enter the airport terminal area.
