Hyderabad: A nine-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a man in his early thirties in Borabanda.
The man, who has not been identified, misguided the girl, took her to an unoccupied house and sexually assaulted her. He escaped from the area soon after the incident.
The police has launched a search for him. The incident occurred at around 6.30 pm at Swaraj Nagar when the girl was walking home after attending madrasa.
“Seeing the girl alone the suspect came behind her and shouted that a dog was following her. When the girl got frightened and started walking fast, the suspect caught hold of her hands and walked with her for a while. He then told her that his phone battery fell down somewhere and asked her to help him find it. While walking he pulled the girl to an abandoned house, took her to the bathroom and sexually assaulted her,” said inspector Md. Waheeduddin of SR Nagar.
Soon after the incident, the suspect left the girl and fled the spot. The victim went to her house and told her parents about the incident. Her parents then took her to the police station and filed a complaint.
The girl explained everything that happened to her and told the cops that she can identify the man if she sees him again. We have booked a case under IPC for rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso). A manhunt has been launched to find the suspect.
Meanwhile, doctors said the girl’s condition was stable and that she had not suffered any injuries.
