Youth drowns in private swimming pool at Chandrayanagutta

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old drowned in a private swimming pool at Chandrayangutta in the city on Sunday. The family members of the victim, Syed Sami Uddin, alleged that the incident happened due to the negligence of the pool management and demanded strict action against them.

Police said they had registered a case against the management and started an investigation.

Police said on Sunday, Sami Uddin along with his friends Ilayas, Sohail, Zaheer and a few others went to Khilwath near Charminar to play cricket. After that, all of them went to the Belwails swimming pool in Chandrayangutta for a swim.

Police said that while swimming Sami Uddin accidentally drowned. On seeing this, a staffer at the pool along with his friends brought him out of the pool and rushed him to hospital, but doctors declared him dead.

His elder brother Syed Ahmed Uddin said the incident happened as the pool management has not set up enough safety measures at the place.
