NIA questions nine terror suspects, PFI sees RSS-BJP hand behind raids

A few suspects, who were served notices by the investigation agency, appeared before NIA officials at their Madhapur

Hyderabad: National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials on Monday questioned nine suspects in connection with the Popular Front of India (PFI) alleged terror activities and funds obtained from terror outfits.

They arrested four suspects — Mohammed Syed Yahiya Sammer (22) a resident of Ahmedpura in Nizamabad district, Mohammed Irfan (36) from Rahmatpur of Jagityal and Sheik Feroz Khan (22) — from Shanthinagar in Adilabad. They were questioned about PFI terror activities.

"A few suspects, who were served notices by the investigation agency, appeared before NIA officials at their Madhapur. The officials allegedly grilled the suspects about training them in using weapons in the guise of karate by luring youth from rural areas to join training camps and fund arrangements to the Popular Front of India," sources said.

On Sunday, NIA and GST officials conducted raids at different places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and seized cash, mobile phones and electronic gadgets from their possession. NIA officials are likely to arrest more suspects in connection with the case.nting an “RSS and BJP agenda.”
