Hyderabad: Family gets police threat
Hyderabad: A 70-year-old man and his family from Miyapur approached the State Human Rights Commission stating that they were facing a threat from Miyapur Police inspector Harishchandra Reddy.
Mr Boini Komuraiah stated that the inspector was threatening them to compromise on a land issue pending between them and the other party. He claimed that in less than a month, nine cases were booked against his family members.
However, the police claimed that Komuraiah’s son Venkatesh was recently arrested in a cheating case and to divert the case, they are spreading baseless allegations.
The family had also submitted a petition to home minister Naini Narshimha Reddy seeking action. Mr Reddy forwarded it to the Cyberabad Police Commissioner to verify the matter and take action as per law.
Komuraiah in his petition stated that there was an issue with a land which was registered to them by one Venkatesham, but after Venkatesham passed away, his wife started claiming the land, which is against the agreement.
But when Mr Komuraiah’s family approached the police, a case was registered against his son Venkatesh and he was arrested.
“We have complained to the commissioner of police Cyberabad on the false cases booked against us, but there was no action from their side,” Komuraiah said in his petition before the SHRC.
He stated that Venkatesham’s wife is using false cases against them and the inspector is also threatening them to compromise with their opponents.
Miyapur Inspector Mr Harishchandra Reddy said that Venkatesh was arrested in a cheating case, but his family members tried to influence the investigation and when they could not succeed, they levelled false allegations. “A proper inquiry will reveal the facts.” he added.
