Financial row: 3 held for youth's murder
Bengaluru: Kamakshipalya police have arrested three people in connection with a murder of a 21-year-old youth on August 11 in Srinivas Nagar in Sunkadakatte.
The accused have been identified as Abhishek (23) and Rajesh S.K. (28), both residents of Srinivas Nagar, and Puneeth (27), a native of Kunigal taluk. The accused were absconding after hacking Avinash Gowda to death over a financial row and also attacked his cousin Satish (28), who survived.
The deceased hailed from Kunigal in Tumakuru district and had come to the city in search of a job. As a stop gap arrangement Avinash was working with Satish at his juice shop and they were staying in a room along with other workers in Srinivasa Nagar.
The accused confessed before the police that on August 11, Satish and Avinash came to the room, while they were having food, and threw away their plates during a scuffle over some financial issue.
In the heat of the argument the accused tried to stab Satish, but accidentally attacked Avinash. They later stabbed Satish too. Avinash sustained severe injuries and succumbed, while Satish survived.
Hearing the ruckus, the neighbours rushed to the spot, but by the time they entered the house the accused had fled. The Kamakshipalya police had registered a case.
