110 kg of ganja worth Rs 10 lakh seized on Dhanbad express, 3 persons arrested
Chennai: Sleuths of Narcotic CB arrested three persons and seized 110 kg of ganja valued at Rs 10 lakh from the general coach of Dhanbad Express in Chennai Central railway station in the early hours of Thursday.
According to sources, at around 4 am on Thursday, the NCB sleuths raided Bihar-Alapuzha Express train and seized the ganga bundles inside a gunny bag.
"We received information from our source that a huge quantity of ganja has been moved out from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala via Dhanbad Express. During the search operation, we raided the general compartment and found the contraband. We have arrested three persons including two women in the case," said an official from the zonal Narcotics Control Bureau.
The identity of the arrested persons and the value of the seized drug are yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
