Hyderabad: A 29-year-old man from Hyderabad, who was reportedly depressed, committed suicide by self-immolation at Burgul, which is over 80 km away from his home on Tuesday.
Shadnagar inspector A. Sreedhar Kumar said that Vishnuvardhan Reddy, 29, a resident of ECIL in Hyderabad, left home early on Monday on his bike.
At around 1 pm on Tuesday, he went into a service road near Burgul under Shad-nagar limits and parked his bike on the road side. He was carrying a bottle of petrol with him which he used to immolate himself using a lighter, he said.
Passersby noticed his body and alerted the police. His father, Mr Chandrashekar Reddy later registered a case.
“The parents of Vishnuvardhan said that he was unemployed for quite some time and was depressed for about 20 days. A case of suspicious death has been registered,” police said.
