Bengaluru: Pervert who played lizard trick on woman arrested
Bengaluru: Indiranagar police have nabbed the person who allegedly groped a woman recently under the pretext of removing a rubber-made lizard that he threw at her near a tea stall on CMH Road.
Based on the clues on the physical description given by the shopkeepers in the area and the CCTV footage, the police have arrested Murali (35), a resident of L B Shastrinagar and a driver-cum-vegetable merchant by profession.
According to police, the accused used to wait for women walking alone and throw a rubber-made lizard on them and try to take advantage of the situation by pretending to help them out. Murali confessed to the crime during the interrogation, the police said.
A woman had recently lodged a complaint at Indiranagar police station stating that some unidentified men threw lizard at her while she was walking by a tea shop on CMH Road.
The woman, hailing from Bihar, who had come to Bengaluru 15 days ago for a professional training. The incident happened while she was returning home after training.
