Woman murdered in Basavanagudi

The body bore assault injury marks with lot of blood shed.

Bengaluru: A 50-year-old home alone woman was found murdered at her residence in Basavangudi on Saturday evening. The deceased, identified as Syeda Unnissa, was the wife of Afzal Ahmed, who is working as a manager with National Travels in Kalasipalaya.

According to the police, Syeda was found lying naked in a pool of blood in the bedroom, when her husband arrived at the house around 6.30 pm. He had left for work at 7.30 am and made several calls to his wife, but there was no response. After finishing his work, Afzal came home only to find his wife murdered. The body bore assault injury marks with lot of blood shed and the cause of the death is yet to be ascertained, the police said.

“The house was locked from outside and there is no sign of forced entry. As for now, it does not look like a murder for gain as there were no signs of the house being ransacked or any valuables missing,” said a senior police officer. A case of murder has been registered at Basavanagudi police station.
