Doctor fails PG medical entrance, ends life in Hyderabad

On Friday night, she called her cousin and told him to take care of her parents and disconnected the call.

Hyderabad: Depressed after failing to clear PG medical entrance, a 26-year-old lady doctor committed suicide at Alwal. Police said that Anusha, hailing from Mandamarri in Adilabad district, hanged herself on the ceiling fan in her room. She was working with Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad and had resigned a week ago.

Police said Dr M. Anusha, 26, was staying alone at Alwal. After completing MBBS, she had attempted PG entrance many times but could not clear it. On Friday night, she called her cousin and told him to take care of her parents and disconnected the call. When he called back she did not answer.

“They rushed to her flat and found the door locked from inside. When they broke open the door they found her hanging on the ceiling fan,” Inspector T. Anand Reddy said.

In another case, 23-year-old school teacher Chandana committed suicide by jumping into the Saroornagar lake. Chandana was working at Gowtham Model School. Police said a friend named Mahesh proposed to her and she rejected it. “Unable to bear his harassment she committed suicide,” police said. Police registered a suicide case. Mahesh is absconding.
