Hyderabad: Gachibowli police have arrested a man who was on the run after sexually assaulting students of a school.
Damodar Rao, who is the husband of a Telangana Social Welfare Residential Girls School principal, was absconding after he was found sexually abusing minors at the school.
“He has been absconding since May 2, when the case was registered against him. We had been chasing him around many places before he was arrested in Chandanagar while taking refuge at his friend’s home,” said M. Gangadhar, Inspector of Gachibowli police station.
The incident came to light after a student fell sick and her parents lodged a complaint with the Gachibowli police. Pramodini, the principal of the school was suspended.
The girl who returned home after the incident, complained of fever and the parents, suspecting foul play, registered a complaint, taking the issue public.
