Hyderabad: Cop faces probe in milk adulteration

The commissioner issued a memo to the inspector.

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police commissioner has ordered an inquiry against inspector Manchal M. Gangadhar for his alleged links with suspects of a milk adulteration racket. ACP S. Malla Reddy was asked to submit the report.

On Wednesday, SOT busted a milk adulteration racket and arrested three persons and seized 35 kg of urea, edible oil, 695 litres of adulterated milk, 40 litres of milk, 680 litres of adulterated milk and an auto trolley. It was alleged that the inspector had links with the main accused A. Mallesh Yadav, who owns dairy farms and is supplying the adulterated milk to dairy agencies.

In September 2016, the inspector was served a memo after he assaulted a racer for organising racing. A video clip of the inspector assaulting the organiser was tweeted to IT Minister K.T. Ramarao, who directed the DGP to look into the issue.
