Hyderabad: The SOT arrested a cricket betting organiser and his associate and seized Rs18,200 and five cell phones from them. The suspects are B. Manoj Kumar, 23, a private sector employee and S. Vijay Kumar, 23, both residents of Venkateshwara Colony in Meerpet. The police nabbed them while they were betting on the match between Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.
In a similar incident, SR Nagar police arrested three persons for betting in IPL matches and recovered Rs 20,000 and three cell phones from them. According to the police, the accused Murali and Sk. Matham and M. Santosh Kumar were betting on the ongoing IPL matches. The raid was conducted by SR Nagar police.
