Hyderabad: Boy, 20, girl, 17, commit suicide
Hyderabad: Upset with their parents for not letting them marry each other immediately, a girl, an intermediate student, along with her boyfriend committed suicide by consuming pesticide at the latter’s agricultural field in the Venkata-puram village in Talan-kondapally Mandal of Rangareddy district on Wednesday night. The police registered a case of suspicious death for the probe.
The victims, Tandra Mallesh, 20, and Shilpa, 17, were natives of Venkatapuram village. The two had been in love with each other for quite some time and wanted to get married. They conveyed the same to their parents, who asked them to wait for a few years since Shilpa was very young and pursuing intermediate studies and had recently attended first-year examinations.
As Mallesh would visit Shilpa’s house fairly often, her parents put her under the care of their elder daughter who lives with her family in a neighbouring village.
On Wednesday evening, Mallesh visited the sister’s house to meet Shilpa, which led to a petty quarrel. Later, he called Shilpa and asked her to accompany him to Venkatapuram. After they got there, they committed suicide.
“The couple reached Mallesh’s agricultural field on Wednesday night, where they consumed a pesticide to kill themselves.
Their bodies were found by the boy’s relatives on Thursday morning near the well in the field. A case of suspicious death has been registered for the probe and preliminarily, it has been found that the couple was upset with their parents for not letting them get married immediately,” said the Amangal Circle inspector Narsimha Reddy.
