Minor boy held in Walayar sexual abuse case
Palakkad: Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiring into the mysterious deaths of two minor sisters at Attappallam in Walayar here picked up on Tuesday an underage boy residing near their single-room house. SIT head and narcotic DySP M. J. Sojan told DC that the youngster who had completed Plus Two was doing menial jobs and was noticed by the SIT earlier as he too visited the house and played with the children. “He admitted while interrogation that he had sexually abused the sisters several times. Being a minor, he was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board in Palakkad and will be at Juvenile home through April 27,” Mr Sojan said.
Two relatives of the minor girls V. Madhu and ‘Kutti’ Madhu along with Shibu of Rajakkad in Idukki and Pradeep of Cherthala are theother accused, presently in jail. All the accused had sexually abused the girl, police said. The SIT will file the charge sheet against the five after getting the forensic report on the death of the younger sister who was found hanging in their house. As the victims are dead, the SIT is not sure about the pieces of evidence they have with them, police sources said. The elder sister, aged 13, was found hanging in the house on January 13 and after 52 days the nine-year-old younger one was also found hanging at the same place.
