Hyderabad: An emotionally unstable mother consumed rat poison and gave it to her children due to a dispute with her son-in-law at Macha Bolarum.
The three were admitted to Gandhi Hospital and are out of danger. M. Swapna, 34, housewife, was married to M. Sarvesh, a daily wage labourer. After his arrest she had been staying with her younger daughter, M. Gayathri, 19, and her son, M. Manoj.
The mother had given some money to her elder daughter, Gyaneshwari and son-in-law Naresh, a driver, when they got married two years back on different occasions. Now when she asked them to return the money for her younger daughter’s wedding, they refused.
This led to a dispute and the mother consumed rat poison. She gave the poison to Gayathri and her son as well. On receiving an emergency call from the son-in-law, Alwal police sent an ambulance to their place and took them to Gandhi Hospital. Alwal police inspector T. Anand Reddy said the mother had mental health problems, and had got her husband arrested for harassment in the past.
