Hyderabad: Maid held, booty worth Rs 6 lakh seized
Hyderabad: A 28-year-old caretaker who stole gold jewellery from her employer’s house was arrested by Chaitanyapuri police on Saturday. Police recovered valuables worth Rs 6.6 lakh from her house.
Police said that Dr R.C.V. Sri Krishna and his doctor wife from Dilsukhnagar emplo-yed Thakur Anitha Bai, a resident of Karvan, to take care of their kids who were at home.
Once the doctor couple goes to work Anitha Bai used to be alone at home with the kids. Due to her financial problems she decided to steal gold jewellery from her employer's house. On Thursday when the doctor couple were away from home she stole around 22 tolas of gold jewellery and fled.
The couple who returned home at night found the jewellery missing on Friday and filed a complaint with the police. Based on clues, police understood that Anitha Bai had stolen the jewellery and started searching for her. On Saturday morning they traced her to her home at Karwan and arrested her. Police also seized the jewellery intact valued at Rs 6.6 lakh from her home. She was remanded to custody.
