Suni was in the custody of the Kottayam West police for interrogation in the forgery case on Friday and till Saturday afternoon.

Kottayam: The Kottayam west police on Saturday arrested Martin, 52, the key accused in the case on forging the SIM card of the mobile phone used by Pulsar Suni, who had sexually assaulted a prominent film actor in Kochi and recorded the visuals on a mobile. Two others accused in the forgery case, Shiney Thomas of Kadavanthra and Moncy Scaria of Pala, were arrested earlier. Pulsar Suni had acquired the SIM card from Shiney, his close associate. Martin of Chalukunnu near here, who was running a job consultancy office at Thirunakkara, had forged the SIM card using the details of the Aadhaar card of Deepak, a job applicant, and the photo of another six months ago. Martin’s friends Moncy Scaria and Shiney used the SIM card to call people for joining their real estate business.

Kottayam DYSP, Gireesh P. Saradhi, told this newspaper that the case registered at the Kottayam west police station had no connection with the actor abduction case. They said they cannot ascertain if this fake sim was used in connection with that case. It is strictly concerned with the forgery of a fake sim card using a stolen identity card, he said. Meanwhile, Suni who was taken into custody was also presented at the Kottayam JFMC 3, and the court remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days. He was taken to the district jail at Kakkanad, Kochi on Saturday evening. Suni was in the custody of the Kottayam West police for interrogation in the forgery case on Friday and till Saturday afternoon.
