Hyderabad: A 26-year-old woman from Tolichowki attempted suicide along with her two children aged below four years, by jumping into Hussainsagar on Monday.
The woman was rescued and counselled before she was handed over her to parents.
Lake police inspector B. Dhana Laxmi said the woman was married to a man, working in Riyadh. The couple had a boy (four-and-a-half-year-old) and a girl (one-and-a-half-year-old). For the last two years, her husband has been living in Riyadh while she has been living with her parents.
Recently, she got to know that her husband was back in the city, but her in-laws were not letting her stay with them, and she suspected that her husband was planning to get married to another woman.
At about 6 am, she left the house by leaving a note that she is ending her life along with her kids. Her parents immediately rushed to the Golkonda police station and lodged a complaint. She was rescued at about 11.30 am when she entered the water along with her kids, said the inspector.
