Hyderabad: Student ends life after Facebook call
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, an MBA committed suicide after a video call with her boy friend. B. Haneesha Chowdhary, 24, hanged herself from the ceiling after telling her friend that she was going to commit suicide. “Her friend rushed to the spot and took her to the hospital but she was declared brought dead,” the Petbasheerbad police said.
Police suspect that a petty issue between the deceased and her friend forced her to take this extreme step. The case is under investigation.
According to the police, Haneesha Chowdhary, hailing from Anantapur district in AP, was an MBA II year student in Shiva Shivani Institute of Management at Kompally and was residing in the college hostel. Since the past one year, she was in relation with one Dakshith, who is studying in a different batch in the same college. Apparently, they were having some issues for the past few days over their relation.
In the early hours of Sunday, around 1.30 am, they had a video call on Facebook messenger. After a 10-minute-long conversation, Haneesha suddenly told Dakshith that she does not want to live and was going to commit suicide. Dakshith reportedly told her to not take such a decision and told her that things will be normal, but within seconds the call got disconnected. Dakshith, who resides in Medchal rushed to the hostel and alerted the college authorities about the issue.
They together went to Haneesha’s room and broke open the door. They found her hanging from the ceiling. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital where she was declared as brought dead.
SI M. Venkatesham from Petbasheerbad said that a petty argument could have led to this incident. So far, nothing suspicious has been found from their conversations on Whatsapp and other messages.
“Even her parents did not raise any suspicions on the boy. However, a case under Section 174 of the CrPC has been registered,” the SI said.
